The building that houses our Alexander Office had its beginnings as a day camp for children with developmental disabilities. On June 29, 1969 Camp Alexander Opened. Camp Alexander was named in memory of Rosalyn Alexander, a young girl with developmental disabilities from Paterson, NJ who passed away several years earlier. Rosalyn was a beautiful young girl who attended the Gruenert Nursery.
Camp Alexander moved to a more suitable location in Oak Ridge, NJ in the fall of 1974. In 1978 Camp Alexander closed and in 1980 one of the camp units was transformed into the Alexander House.
Alexander House operated until 2018, in which time it moved to Roxbury Township and was renamed Walsh House.
Today, our Alexander Offices host our CPR and First Aid Trainings, as well as our nursing and Support Coordination offices.
