HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND RAPID RE-HOUSING, MORRIS COUNTY

Hope House is there to help those in need throughout Morris County. Through our Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing program we offer a housing assistance program aimed at helping participants obtain permanent housing through temporary financial assistance and case management services.
Purpose:
· Financial assistance to help pay for housing
· Case management and services to maintain housing
Targets two populations:
· Homelessness Prevention assistance to households in imminent risk of homelessness due to an eviction. (Must have a summons or warrant of removal from landlord-tenant court - court papers must have a docket number and a court date and must be no more than 6 months old).
· Rapid Re-housing assistance to individuals and families living on the streets or in emergency shelters (up to 90 days) obtain permanent housing
Eligible Activities: Homelessness Prevention:
· Financial Assistance: Maximum assistance with arrears and rental assistance is 6
months (Rental Arrears: up to 3 months)
Case Management:
➢ Developing an individualized housing and self-sufficiency plan (including job search
and career advancement).
➢ Identifying and obtaining services for program participants. Credit repair, budgeting, and money management
Rapid Re-Housing:
· Security Deposit: up to 1 ½ months of rent Rental Assistance: up to 12 months
· Case Management: arrangement, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of services related to meeting the housing needs of program participants and helping them to obtain housing stability. Case management services include:
➢ Developing an individualized housing and self-sufficiency plan
(including job search and career advancement)
➢ Identifying and obtaining services for program participants
➢ Housing Search and Placement: assist program participants locate, secure, and retain suitable housing. Credit repair, budgeting, and money management
