About the Program
Pastoral Care staff integrates spirituality with the client’s clinical care plan helping each person come to know who they are through their relationship with their Higher Power.
We support clients in their recovery from substance abuse by listening and attending to their spiritual needs. We facilitate this by providing spiritual guidance individually and in groups. Our clients’ spiritual journey is augmented with retreats, choir, art groups, addiction recovery groups, and awareness, spirituality and bible study groups.
Religious services are provided for multiple faiths utilizing local Ministers, Imams, and Rabbis in addition to our own pastoral care Priests and Staff.
Conscious contact with God.
Spirituality is the experience of being connected deeply with ourselves, others, and God. The focus of addiction is on experiences and connection with the drug. The drug then mediates our experiences and connectedness with our self, others, and most profoundly God.
The spiritual destruction experienced is a downward spiral where the addicts loses themselves, connection with God, and others. Thus addiction is really a spiritual disease that can only be cured by a spiritual program of recovery.
The greatest honor we can give to Almighty God is to live gladly becuase of the knowledge of His love (St Julian of Norwich)
Striving for healing, recovery and spiritual growth through song. Through the universal language of music, clients learn how to work as a group and express their creativity.
We also serve as a public face for Straight and Narrow, bringing our message to the community at large through outsides performances and engagements.
"Music, great music, distends the spirit arouses profound emotions and almost naturally invites us to raise our minds and hearts to God in all situations of human existence, the joyful and the sad. Music can become prayer." - Pope Benedict XVI.
