National Recovery Month, started in 1989, is a national observance held every September to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery in all its forms possible.
Straight and Narrow is the largest nonprofit treatment center providing a full continuum of care for women and men in recovery in the country. We are blessed to provide help and create hope for individuals with addictive disorders.

Dr. Ed Reading is a priest of the Diocese of Paterson and President of the Matt Talbot Institute. He has been an Addiction Professional since 1969--beginning at Straight and Narrow, Inc, in Paterson. He is a professional member of several national and international organizations, and has taught Addiction Studies at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. He has lectured to medical and pastoral professional groups through out the US and Canada.
